Analisis doomscrolling pada mahasiswa berdasarkan jenis kelamin, usia, dan intensitas penggunaan media sosial

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat doomscrolling berdasarkan jenis kelamin, usia, dan intesitas penggunaan media sosial. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan 490 responden melalui teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa skala social media doomscrolling dengan nilai reliabilitas cronbach’s alpha sebesar 0,834. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum tingkat doomscrolling berada pada kategori sedang. Laki-laki memiliki tingkat doomscrolling yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan perempuan. Selain itu, kelompok usia 21–24 tahun menunjukkan skor tertinggi dibandingkan kelompok usia lainnya, serta semakin lama durasi harian penggunaan media sosial, semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan akan perilaku doomscrolling. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan pentingnya memberikan perhatian khusus kepada kelompok yang lebih rentan terhadap kebiasaan mencari informasi negatif di media sosial, sekaligus menekankan urgensi penerapan langkah-langkah preventif yang efektif. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar konselor di perguruan tinggi bersama pihak terkait merancang program layanan konseling yang menyeluruh untuk membantu mereduksi tingkat doomscrolling yang dialami mahasiswa.
